  Affinity Dog Breed Selector

When choosing a dog there are many factors to take into account in order to make the right choice such as the type of home it will have, the amount of attention it will require (and how much we will actually be able to give it), the level of activity it needs and what guard dog characteristics it possesses.

By filling-in this short form, we would like to help you choose the breed of dog which is best suited to your lifestyle (that is if you still don't own a dog).

Type of housing
It is advisable to choose a dog which would best adapt to your present home. If you live in a small flat (60 square meters), we recommend a small or medium-sized dog. If on the contrary you live in a large flat (120 square meters) or a house with garden, you can opt for a larger dog. However, should space be limited for a larger dog then this should be compensated by taking it out for longer walks more often.

Activity
The level of a dog's activity will not only determine the type of food it should be given, but also whether it is the kind of dog best suited to you (Do you enjoy doing sport? Do you like going out for walks often?) It is not advisable to keep a very active dog in a small flat as it could cause damage and it would compel you to entertain it with games and exercise.

Utility

Some breeds, due to their origin and special characteristics, are specialised in certain types of activities such as mushing, agility tests, rescues, etc. On the other hand, some breeds are not appropriate for certain things, such as to be kept as pets, guard dogs, etc. By answering this question you will help us define the breed which is best suited to your needs and requirements.
