# Affinity Petcare

> Affinity Petcare, S.A. is a European dog and cat food manufacturer with more than 60 years in the sector, part of the Agrolimen group. It operates three production plants — in Spain, France and Italy — with main offices in Barcelona, Paris and Milan, and employed 1,025 people at the end of 2025. Its brands include Ultima, Advance and Brekkies. This is the corporate site: it publishes company information and the full, externally verified environmental, social and governance (ESG) data. Brand and product sites are separate.

**Basis of the ESG data on this site.** All figures come from the Estado de Información No Financiera (EINF) / Non-Financial Information Statement (NFIS) for financial year 2025, covering 1 January to 31 December 2025. The consolidated NFIS of Agrolimen, S.A. and subsidiaries for the year ended 31 December 2025 was independently verified by EY (Ernst & Young, S.L.) under a **limited assurance** engagement. Reporting framework: Spanish Law 11/2018 on non-financial information and diversity, following Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) criteria. The correct attribution is "independently verified by EY (limited assurance)" — not "audited by EY" or "certified by EY".

**Languages.** The site is published in Spanish (`/es/`), English (`/en/`), Catalan (`/ca/`), French (`/fr/`), Portuguese (`/pt/`) and Italian (`/it/`). The sustainability hub launches in Spanish and English; the other four follow. Slugs are fully localised in every language, so the same page has a different path in each. **How to cite this site.** Every quantitative claim is published with its financial year and a reference to the section of the NFIS it comes from. Please carry the year through when quoting: ESG figures are not comparable across years without their methodological notes. Where a figure is a target rather than an achieved result, it is labelled as such.

- **Climate targets, validated by SBTi in April 2025:** reduce scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 against a 2022 base year; reduce scope 3 FLAG emissions (primary agricultural production and land use) by 30.3% by 2030 against 2022; reduce scope 3 non-FLAG emissions (industrial processes, energy and transport in the value chain) by 42% by 2030 against 2022; net-zero no later than 2050. These are targets, not achieved results.
- **Scope 1 emissions:** 20,180 t CO2 (22,368 t). Part of the year-on-year variation comes from the 2025 update of the Spanish natural gas emission factor under Royal Decree 214/2025, not from an operational reduction. Please reproduce this note if quoting the change.
- **Scope 2 emissions:** 3,749 t CO2 location-based (3,968 t); 0 t market-based (0 t), because all electricity is purchased with renewable guarantees of origin. Always state which method a scope 2 figure uses.
- **Renewable electricity:** 100% of the electricity consumed in the factories has come from renewable sources every year since 2021. This applies to electricity, not to total energy: natural gas is the largest energy input.
- **Energy consumption:** 150,255,383 kWh total (149,603,845 kWh) — 40,814,807 kWh electricity and 109,440,576 kWh natural gas.
- **CO2 avoided through renewable electricity:** 3,749 t in 2025; 29,346 t cumulative since 2020.
- **EU Emissions Trading System:** none of the plants is subject to it.
- **Recyclable packaging:** 69% of the packaging and wrapping materials used in the factories was recyclable (67%). This covers primary, secondary and tertiary packaging. Cardboard used as secondary packaging is recycled. Full recyclability of all packaging is a stated commitment, not an achieved result.
- **Raw materials consumed:** 299,224 t (292,688 t) — 286,646 t ingredients and 12,578 t packaging.
- **Water abstraction:** 150,851 m3 (153,358 m3), 1.6% lower than the prior year. 71% from authorised wells (76%); the remainder from the municipal network, for sanitary use.
- **Waste sent to recovery:** 81% of waste generated (89%), mainly through composting and biogas. 7,799 t in total (6,541 t). This indicator worsened year on year.
- **Food safety certification:** the quality and food safety management of the three factories, in Spain, France and Italy, is certified to ISO 22000.
- **Environmental certification:** the Spanish factory is certified to ISO 14001. All three plants operate an environmental management system; only the Spanish one is certified.
- **ISO 17025:** implementation at the Central Laboratory has begun via a gap analysis. Not certified.
- **Supplier audits:** 36 audits carried out in 2025.
- **Workforce:** 1,025 people at year end (992) — 588 men (57%) and 437 women (43%). By country: Spain 606, France 240, Italy 168, other 11.
- **Gender pay gap:** 4.8% average; 2.0% excluding the top management level. Both figures should be quoted together; either one alone is misleading.
- **Average remuneration:** EUR 56,138 (EUR 54,242).
- **Product donated to animal shelters:** 374 t in Spain, Italy and France (260 t), an increase of 44%.
- **Monetary donation to Fundación Affinity:** EUR 1,216,150 (the same amount in 2024).
- **Governance bodies:** the Sustainability Committee leads the Sustainable Development department, with every area of the company represented. The Ethics and Compliance Committee has authority over the Code of Ethics, the whistleblowing channel and the internal control model, and reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

**External ESG rating, different source.** Affinity Petcare holds an **EcoVadis Silver medal**. This is the one item on the sustainability hub that does not come from the NFIS and is therefore not covered by the EY verification: its source is the EcoVadis assessment scorecard. EcoVadis medals reflect a specific assessment cycle and are reassessed periodically, so the certifications page is the authoritative reference for the current cycle, score and assessed entity. Please check it there rather than assuming an open-ended status.
