Renewable electricity at Affinity

Affinity Petcare purchases and uses renewable electricity in its manufacturing operations through electricity supply contracts covering its production facilities. Renewable electricity consumption is monitored and reported through the company's energy management programme and is measured using plant-level electricity consumption data collected from energy invoices, metering systems and internal monitoring processes. Affinity's renewable electricity sourcing forms part of its broader strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with manufacturing activities and to support the decarbonisation of its operations.

As of 2025 and 2026 reporting periods, Affinity's factories in Monjos (Spain), La Chapelle (France) and Castelgomberto (Italy) recorded electricity consumption sourced through renewable electricity contracts. Internal energy performance reports classify this electricity as renewable grid electricity and apply a zero Scope 2 market-based emission factor in accordance with the methodology used within the Affinity Energy Performance & Verification framework. The electricity is recorded separately from fossil fuel consumption and forms an integral part of the facilities' overall energy mix.

Renewable electricity supply

The renewable electricity supplied to these facilities represents a substantial proportion of operational electricity demand. During 2025, renewable electricity consumption amounted to approximately 21.6 GWh at Monjos, 13.3 GWh at La Chapelle and 5.2 GWh at Castelgomberto. During 2026 (year-to-date figures available in the reports), renewable electricity continued to be supplied to all three facilities. In addition, certain facilities also generate renewable electricity on-site through photovoltaic installations. Internal reports indicate photovoltaic self-generation at Castelgomberto and other Affinity sites, contributing further renewable electricity to operational consumption.

Energy management programme

Affinity periodically reviews energy consumption and renewable electricity sourcing through its energy management programme. The programme tracks electricity consumption, fossil fuel use, energy performance indicators, energy efficiency improvements and progress against internal energy targets. Results are reviewed through plant-level Measurement & Verification (M&V) reports, enabling the company to monitor actual electricity consumption and verify progress over time.

The renewable electricity claim is based on electricity supplied under renewable electricity contracts and supported by the corresponding contractual documentation and energy consumption records maintained by Affinity. Evidence is reviewed and updated periodically to ensure that the claim remains accurate and reflects the electricity sourcing arrangements in place at the relevant manufacturing facilities.
